We interviewed eight Jersey landlords in September 2026. What came back wasn’t daily admin frustration — most people cope fine with that. It was the rare miss that costs real money.
A deadline goes past
One landlord missed a rent-review deadline and let a year’s rent drift below market before catching it. Another nearly forgot to renew a lease that rolls forward every twelve months.
It all lives with one person
Dates sit in a private diary, a spreadsheet, or a cloud folder only one person can reach. When they’re away or unwell, everyone else is calling to ask where things are.
Nobody knows who has it
Families sharing a parent’s properties told us the same thing: the arguments aren’t about the work, they’re about who thought someone else was doing it.
